Physical Therapy (PT) aims to help patients ease pain and improve function and mobility through movement and prescribed exercises. It is a critical part of a patient’s care plan if they are:
- Recovering from a sports injury and are trying to avoid disability or surgery
- Require rehabilitation after a stroke, accident, injury or surgery
- Need to work on balance to prevent a slip or fall
- Managing a chronic illness like diabetes, heart disease, or arthritis and need assistance with daily functions such as controlling your bowels or bladder
- Adjusting to an artificial limb
- Learning to use assistive devices such as a walker or cane, and/or require a splint or brace
People of all ages with pain should consider physical therapy as it can treat a variety of health problems.
How to get it: A physical therapist can be available for a home visit with authorization by your PCP (Primary Care Physician). For more details please call our Patient Intake Department at 1-240-408-9043.
